Chris Hodges, Tandem RAAM Crew Chief


This is Chris’ second RAAM experience after crewing for Brett Walker’s solo race in 2011. Chris likes to travel and is always looking for that next outdoor adventure.

Jane Kellogg, Tandem RAAM Assistant Crew Chief


Jane is a retired elementary school teacher who stays active working with others on community projects and participating in all sorts of outdoor activities. She enjoys adventurous travel and crewed on John’s successful 2007 RAAM ride.

Resident of Concord, NH.  Crewed 3 previous RAAM campaigns (Brett Walker Solo 2007 & 2011, and Team Strong Heart 4-man 2009).  The world is a much better place after a bike ride.

Bridget Powers, Chief Cook and Hydration Specialist


This is Bridget’s first experience participating in RAAM.  She is a bicycling enthusiast, single mom, speech/language pathologist, yogini and stand up paddler who is looking forward to the challenge and adventure of crewing and fundraising for a great cause!

Jim Gagne, Tandem RAAM Medical Man

Jim’s experience as a paramedic/ER nurse will ensure Tandem RAAM maintains optimal health for their cross-country race. Not only did Jim crew for John in 2007, but has conquered amazing achievements of his own — climbing the seven highest peaks on each continent. Jim’s 2017 ambitious plans also include catching up on his sleep and eating John and Ann’s snacks during RAAM — a RAAM first.

Kyle Hodges


Kyle was born and raised in Thornton, NH. He plans to graduate Montana State University in the spring with a degree Health and Human Performance-Exercise Science. Kyle has a passion for physiology and biomechanics. He plans on applying to Physician Assistant Schools in the next year, and currently works as a phlebotomist at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital in Bozeman, MT.

Brett Walker, Tandem RAAM RV Man, Food Guru and RAAM Resource Wizard


Brett is an experienced ultra-cyclist, having completed Solo RAAM in 2007, 4-person RAAM in 2009, and competed in Solo RAAM in 2011.  He has also raced and won many 24 hour and RAAM qualifying events.  

Cindy Jones, Tandem RAAM Videographer and Utility Crew Member

Television producer Cindy Jones brings over 30 years of experience to the television and video production industry.  In her 10 years with NH’s WMUR she’s produced, videotaped and edited over 500 stories for NH Chronicle. Cindy’s one women, documentary style of capturing all things NH has gained her much recognition in the broadcast industry including five NE Emmy nominations, one of which was for her special “Living with Lyme: New Hampshire’s Exploding Epidemic.” Additional Emmy Nominations include Outstanding Environmental Program, Informational/Instructional Program, Outstanding Magazine Feature and an Associated Press 1st place Sports Feature Award.

Before NH Chronicle, Cindy was co-producer, editor and videographer for the nationally-syndicated television series: Ski New England and New England Outdoors.  She’s also been Director of Photography for the PBS Series “Ciao Italia” for the last 20 years. In addition to PBS, her work has been seen on MTV, NBC, ABC, NESN, ESPN, and other stations around the country. Locally and internationally she has produced numerous features on topics involving environment, health, education and outdoor activities.

Cindy graduated from the University of New Hampshire, likes to bike, hike, ski and enjoys exploring the National Parks and beyond with her husband Scott and their two college aged children.

Ron is a retired middle school educator. He enjoys a variety of outdoor sports. This is his first RAAM. Ron is a cancer survivor.

David, an experienced ultra-cyclist and mechanical engineer, started building bicycles while attending MIT. With nearly 15 years of experience building and maintaining bicycles, David will keep Tandem RAAM rolling along smoothly.

Emily, a former ultra-cyclist/business analyst, is a current Realtor/stay-at-home-mom. Emily is leveraging her jack-of-all-trades background to keep up with Tandem RAAM’s marketing/communication needs (i.e this website). Once the race starts in June, Emily looks forward to keeping the fan base up to date with progress, as well as joining the crew en route to help with feeding, cleaning, and organizing.

Barbara McCahan, Health and Wellness Provider

Barb is an avid outdoor person who loves to swim, cycle and hike. She is also a Professor of Health Education and Promotion at Plymouth State University in Plymouth, NH and advocates for healthy, active living for all.  Barbara is looking forward to supporting the team with food, massage, positive psychology and any other way that may be needed.  This is her first RAAM, with the background of a vicarious experience when her husband Ted was a crew member for John in 2007.


Carissa O’Gara, Tandem RAAM Bike Raffle Queen


Carissa O’Gara is a mom, wife, teacher, and lover of the outdoors. She spends time skiing, hiking, paddling, sailing, and especially cycling!  Supporting John, Ann, and team RAAM is an honor.

Jen Morris, First Descents Fundraising Guru


Jen Morris aka “Boots” in the First Descents community is an active volunteer and participant in First Descents. She is a 2 1/2 year cancer survivor and thriver! She works as a Clinical Oncology Specialist in NH and VT for a biotech company based in San Francisco, CA.  She and her husband are busy with their two teenage boys, 2 dogs, and organic farm in Plymouth, NH.  In her spare time she loves to SUP yoga, run, cycle, and hike and ski (all kinds).
